Vermillion, S.D. – Julius P. Christensen, 65, of rural Vermillion died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at The Abbey in Le Mars, Iowa. Services will be 10 a.m. Wed. at Dalesburg Lutheran Church in rural Vermillion, with Rev. Annette Granchow officiating. Burial will be in Dalesburg Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Iverson-Wiecke Funeral Home in Vermillion.

Mr Christensen was born March 20, 1935, in Clay County, S.D., the son of Clarence J and Violet F. (Dahlin) Christensen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Dalesburg District 35 High School in 1953, in Beresford, S.D. He attended the University of South Dakota for one year. He served in the U.S. Army four years, stationed in Germany. He then farmed. He had been a resident of The Abbey since 1983. He was a member of the Dalesburg Lutheran Church. Survivors include a sister and her husband, two nieces, and two grandnieces.
