Notes:
1. Listed in the 1850 Census, Persimmon Dist., Rabun Co., GA
BLYTHE, Jonathan 78 SC (farmer)
Malinda 33 NC
Mary Jane 11 NC
John M. 8 NC
Robert W. 9 NC
The author is uncertain whether the above listed children are Jonathan's or Malinda's by a previous marriage.
2. One Jonathan Blythe had an Indian wife named Quatie. Her English name was Bettie. Several have researched records and could not find another Jonathan Blythe so the consensus is that he is the same as
above. Although he was married to Annie Barnes, Quatie could have been his Indian wife as the practice of white men having Indian wives while married to a white wife was acceptable among the Cherokee/White
American relationships of that time. For descendants of Jonathan and Quatie, see page 67. Documents were also found identifying children of Jonathan and Que-de-si (Betsy). It was unclear to the author if Que-de-si and Quatie were the same or two different people. Since Betsy and Bettie are both nick names for Elizabeth it is conceivable to the author they could be one and the same. See page 77 for descendants of Jonathan and Que-di-si. https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE186384&from=fhd
