Brattleboro Reformer - Manchester, N.H. -- Robert M. Sprague, 70, of Hampton, N.H., formerly of Readsboro, Vt., died in Manchester Veterans Hospital Tuesday morning after a long illness. He was a retired Army lieutenant colonel with more than 30 years of service, including duty in World War II and the Korean conflict. Mr. Sprague was born in Readsboro, VT., Sept. 19, 1912, to Alfred and Bertha Sprague. His first wife, Jewell Johnson, died Jan. 22, 1975. He is survived by his second wife, N. Grace (Wormhood) Sprague of Hampton, N.H.; three daughters, Dorothy S. Cole of Pipestone, Minn., Roberta Fish of Utica, Ill., and Barbara S. Pervier of Marblehead, Mass.; four brothers, Wesley W. of North Hinsdale, Bertie Sr. of Brattleboro, George of Springfield, Vt., and Alfred of Springhill, Fla.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Brattleboro with Pastor David Thomas officiating. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Fleming Funeral Home in Brattleboro. A memorial service will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Amesbury, Mass., at 5 p.m. Feb 5 [12]. Burial will be in the spring in Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster, Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 5-day Stop Smoking Program, c/o Amesbury Seventh-day Adventist Church, Amesbury, Mass.
